About Abra

I grew up in Africa, India...and Kansas. Then I married a mad scientist and moved to Minneapolis, where I'm a work-from-home writer and parent. When not writing, I shoot photographs, collect folk tales, and wrangle two small children, three large cats, and one medium-sized mad scientist.

I tend to write dark science fiction, cheerful horror, and modern fairy tales. I've had dozens of short stories appear at publications including Tor.com, Escape Pod, and Odyssey Magazine. Find stories to read.

I also teach at The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, and I manage Aswiebe's Market List, a resource for speculative fiction authors. You can also download my full CV (PDF).
